China-Laos Railway successfully loaded with 1,650 tons of ammonium sulfate
On December 3, 2021, after the complete opening of the China-Laos Railway, various provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) in China also launched international freight trains on the China-Laos Railway.
On May 17, 2022, the first China-Laos Railway international freight train in Hubei, loaded with 1,650 tons of ammonium sulfate and other fertilizer raw materials, marked the further expansion of the railway-based trade channel between Hubei and major cities in Southeast Asian countries.
As an inland province, Hubei is based on the national strategic intersection area of the “Belt and Road” and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It seizes the opportunity of “going out” to promote the construction of a dense railway network. Actively build an all-round, multi-level, composite three-dimensional transportation network and modern logistics system. It provides a good development environment for building the brand of China-Europe (Wuhan) trains, integrating into the “Belt and Road” development strategy, and creating a new highland for inland opening up.
On December 1, 2022, the international freight train of the China-Laos Railway (Dazhou High-tech Zone-Vientiane, Laos) in the Western Land-Sea New Corridor was launched. 28 containers loaded with 770 tons of potassium dihydrogen phosphate and ammonium sulphate drove out from the Wengfu container yard.
Currently, 21 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China have successfully launched cross-border freight trains on the China-Laos Railway. The freight transportation covers Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore and other countries and regions. The name of the transported goods has been increased from more than 100 to more than 1,200.
