Mexico continues to suspend anti-dumping duties on ammonium sulfate from China

On August 12, 2014, Mexico launched an anti-dumping investigation on ammonium sulfate (TIGIE tax number 3102.21.01) originating in or imported from China and the United States.

On October 9, 2015, Mexico made an affirmative final ruling on the case, imposing anti-dumping duties of US$0.0929/kg to US$0.1703/kg on the products involved in the case in China, and levying anti-dumping duties of US$0.0759/kg to US$0.1619/kg on the products involved in the United States. On June 7, 2019, Mexico made a final anti-circumvention ruling on ammonium sulfate in China, and decided to impose a mixture containing ammonium sulfate (TIGIE tax number 3105.90) on the Chinese company Wuzhoufeng Agricultural Science & Technology Co. Ltd. .99) to impose an anti-dumping duty of US$0.0929/kg, and to impose an anti-dumping duty of US$0.1703/kg on mixtures containing ammonium sulfate from other Chinese exporters.

On October 2, 2020, Mexico launched its first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on ammonium sulfate from the United States and China and mixtures containing ammonium sulfate from China.

On March 31, 2022, Mexico made its first sunset review final ruling on the case, and decided to maintain the anti-dumping duties determined by the original final ruling on October 9, 2015 and the anti-circumvention final ruling on June 7, 2019. It will take effect on October 10 and will be valid for five years.

On May 24, 2022, the Mexican Ministry of Economy announced that in view of the current insufficient supply of raw materials for fertilizers leading to price increases, it decided to suspend the imposition of anti-dumping duties on ammonium sulfate from China and the United States and ammonium sulfate mixtures from China for a period of six months. The TIGIE tax codes of the products involved are 3102.21.01 and 3105.90.99.
