Urea (Carbamide/Urea solution/USP Grade Carbamide)is easily soluble in water and usedas a neutral quick-released high concentration of nitrogen fertilizer. It is hygroscopic in airand easlly caking.Urea is popularly used in NPK compound fertllzers &BB fertilizers as abasic raw material,it can also be coated with sulphur or polymer as slow-released orcontrol-released ferilizer.Long-term application of urea does not remain anyharmful substances in the soil.
But urea contains small amount of biuret in granulation process, when biuretcontent exceeds 1%,urea can not be used as seeding and foliar fertilizer.
Because of the high nitrogen concentration in urea,it is very important toachieve an even spread. Driling must not occur on contact with or close toseed, due to the risk of germination damage.Urea dissolves in water forapplication as a spray or through irigation systems.
