The International Market of Ammonium Sulfate almost hit Seafloor
The normal ammonium sulfate transaction price
on the Borneo sea market, this week was around 170 euros per ton, with delivery to Northwestern Europe scheduled for the end of February. The price is listed as 150–170 euros per ton FOB, which is comparable to 162–183 USD per ton FOB, demonstrating the seller’s urgency to get rid of inventories in the event of a persistent decline in demand.
The production in Europe is still declining as a result of the weak downstream demand for caprolactam and the delayed seasonal application of meteorological conditions. The typical caprolane ammonium sulphate price ranges from 210 to 250 euros/ton FOB, or 226-270 USD per ton FOB. The upper end of this week’s price range for a small quantity of ordinary ammonium sulfate is 250 euros/ton FOB.
The cost of the particles ranges from 265 to 300 euros per ton FOB, or 285 to 323 USD.
This week, the cost of ordinary ammonium sulfate in China remained constant around $170 to 180 USD/t FOB China. In northern China, the going rate for ammonium sulphate is 180 dollars/ton fob. Southern suppliers claimed that the price was less than USD 170–175/ton FOB under pressure from purchasers’ expectations.
The normal caprolactam grade and MMA grade for bulk export, according to a Malaysian importer, cost US $190/ton cfr and US $170/ton CFR, respectively. Another importer reported that Klang MMA from China cost between $155 and $160 per ton this week.
For shipment from March to April, Indonesia Pupuk Indonesia published a tender for the acquisition of 35000 tons of standard ammonium sulfate caprolactam-grade. The deadline for bidding is February 10.
The auction for the purchase of 20,000–25,000 tons of standard ammonium sulfate by India’s Smartchem Technologies (STL) closed in February. According to STL, the products must be delivered to India’s west coast by the beginning of March. The business made its final purchase of 20000 tons of standard ammonium sulfate at the end of November of last year. The supplies came from China at a low cfr price of 230 dollars per ton.
The rate of extruded ammonium sulfate in Brazil decreased to between 225 and 235 US dollars/ton CFR, and the cost of urea had an effect. Standard ammonium sulphate is listed at 200-210 USD/t cfr, the same price as last week.
At the end of February, Tepeyac in Mexico acquired 20,000 tons of extruded ammonium sulfate and 10,000 tons of regular ammonium sulphate for shipment.
In general, global demand is in limited recovery, and it is anticipated that China’s ammonium sulfate prices would decline mostly in the near future.
