The International Market of Ammonium Sulfate almost hit Seafloor

The normal ammonium sulfate transaction price

on the Borneo sea market, this week was around 170 euros per ton, with delivery to Northwestern Europe scheduled for the end of February. The price is listed as 150–170 euros per ton FOB, which is comparable to 162–183 USD per ton FOB, demonstrating the seller’s urgency to get rid of inventories in the event of a persistent decline in demand.

The production in Europe is still declining as a result of the weak downstream demand for caprolactam and the delayed seasonal application of meteorological conditions. The typical caprolane ammonium sulphate price ranges from 210 to 250 euros/ton FOB, or 226-270 USD per ton FOB. The upper end of this week’s price range for a small quantity of ordinary ammonium sulfate is 250 euros/ton FOB.

The cost of the particles ranges from 265 to 300 euros per ton FOB, or 285 to 323 USD.
This week, the cost of ordinary ammonium sulfate in China remained constant around $170 to 180 USD/t FOB China. In northern China, the going rate for ammonium sulphate is 180 dollars/ton fob. Southern suppliers claimed that the price was less than USD 170–175/ton FOB under pressure from purchasers’ expectations.

The normal caprolactam grade and MMA grade for bulk export, according to a Malaysian importer, cost US $190/ton cfr and US $170/ton CFR, respectively. Another importer reported that Klang MMA from China cost between $155 and $160 per ton this week.
