USITC Makes Determinations In Five-Year (Sunset) Reviews Concerning Ammonium Sulfate From China

On January 20, 2023, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to make the first anti-dumping and countervailing countervailing sunset review on ammonium sulfate imported from China. During the reasonably foreseeable period, the import of the products involved in the case may cause substantial damage to the domestic industry of the United States, which may continue or reoccur. According to the results of the final ruling, the current anti-dumping and countervailing measures in this case remain in effect. In the ruling, five members of the US International Trade Commission all voted in the affirmative.

At the application of PCI Nitrogen, LLC, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced an anti-dumping and countervailing investigation on ammonium sulfate imported from China. The products involved are ammonium sulfate in all physical forms, with or without additives, mixtures thereof, and ammonium sulfate components in compositions. The customs code of the product involved is 3102.21.0000. In 2015, the United States imported about US$62 million of ammonium sulfate from China.

The U.S. International Trade Commission voted to make an affirmative preliminary ruling on the anti-subsidy industry damage investigation of Ammonium Sulfate imported from China. The product causes substantial injury to a domestic industry in the United States. In the ruling, all six members voted in the affirmative.
